ABOUT THE EGMONT KEY
ISLAND GETAWAY
Hop aboard Coastal Cruises’ brand new 50ft Custom Catamaran for a scenic trip to Egmont Key Island. With it’s white sandy beaches and the historical ruins of Fort Dade, Egmont Key Island is truly an adventurer’s paradise. From the 170+ year old lighthouse to a pathway of fort ruins and cannon mounts, this ancient setting feels like it’s out of an Indiana Jones scene. Some of the most secluded beaches and clearest water in St. Pete also helps to make this our most popular trip!
*While some other vessels may offer snorkeling at this location, we choose not to as truthfully it does not compare to other destinations due to poor visibility and a sometimes dangerous current.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should we bring?
Guests are encouraged to bring towels and bathing suits to take full advantage of the pristine beach and crystal clear water. Due to limited space, beach chairs are not permitted unless approved by the crew based on available capacity. Pool noodles and a floating mat are available upon request.
Are we allowed to bring snacks or coolers?
We strongly encourage our guests to bring lunch onboard to enjoy at Egmont Key and the bar does offer light snacks. However, for insurance reasons, coolers and beverages are not allowed on board, but can be purchased at the bar.
What is available at the bar?
Our bar offers soda, water, beer (Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Corona, Bud Light Seltzer, Cutwater Mojito) and wine (Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio) at reasonable prices ranging from $1-$7.
Is alcohol allowed on the beach?
With Egmont Key being a state park, alcohol is allowed off the boat only so long as your feet remain in the water.
Are we allowed to explore the forts on Egmont Key?
Yes, there are several historic buildings for our adventurers onboard to explore. Feel free to ask our crew members for directions once on location.
